Wyoming Game and Fish Commission regulations require hunter education instructors to attend a new instructor workshop within two years of becoming a certified instructor.
There is no fee for the training. Meals and lodging at the Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp are provided by Game and Fish.
Participation is limited and slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Hunter Education Coordinator Jim Dawson said the academy is designed to increase the accuracy of material being taught, and improve communication among hunter education instructors. “Those attending will receive instruction on hunter responsibility and ethics, wildlife management, teaching firearms skills and firearms safety, wildlife issues, laws, and survival, ” Dawson said.
