This proposed project would be located on public lands in and around the Kinsley Mountain Range, about 87 miles southeast of Elko and 38 miles south of West Wendover. Pilot proposes to increase surface disturbance at their existing Kinsley Exploration Project from the currently authorized 4.79 acres to 60 acres within a project boundary of approximately 2,830 acres. The expanded exploration activities would include exploration drilling, road construction, drill pad and sump construction and, maintenance of existing pre-1981 roads. Outside the project boundary, Pilot would construct water well sites and conduct maintenance of approximately 18.3 miles of existing pre-1981 roads which may disturb up to an additional 39 acres. Pilot plans to extract gravel by expanding an existing gravel pit area for road improvement and drilling 1 to 3 water wells. The gravel pit expansion would not exceed 10 acres. Much of the proposed disturbance will be within or adjacent to the previous Kinsley Mine disturbance.
