“Normally, firewood areas are inaccessible due to snow well before permits expire at the end of the year. However with the lack of snow this winter, access to lower elevation firewood areas is still possible. We would like to take this opportunity to remind folks that their firewood permits are no longer valid. Recently several individuals were found harvesting firewood illegally, with expired permits” said Judi Sandretto, Firewood Program Manager for the Cle Elum Ranger District.
Firewood permits for the 2015 firewood season will go on sale at the Cle Elum Ranger District Office on or about May 1,2015. For additional information please contact the Cle Elum Ranger District office at 509-852-1100.
