There will be a community meeting at the Pine Senior Center daily at 10:30 a.m. until further notice.
The Trinity Ridge Fire has been divided into two segments, with each segment managed by a Type 1 Incident Management Team. The division between segments is a line drawn from Sheep Mountain on the west side of the fire to the confluence of the Middle Fork and the Queen’s River on the east side of the fire. Quesinberry’s Southern Area Type I Incident Management Team is managing the northern portion of the fire. The fire south of the line described is managed by Lund’s Great Basin IMT.
Last night’s infrared mapping flight shows the area between the burnout conducted by firefighters and the main fire has filled in, reducing fuels and the threat to Featherville. Firefighters are well-prepared with structure protection measures around the community and along the Pine-Featherville corridor. Two hotshot crews will work today to build hand line in the vicinity of Black Rock campground on the North Fork of the Boise River. Crews will also construct line in the area south of Sheep Mountain to check the spread on a portion of the western flank. Fire activity is expected to increase in the Beaver Creek area and along the northeastern boundary.
A ridge of high pressure is expected to build over the fire area today, bringing increased temperatures and increased humidity levels.
