“The closure starts at the west end of forest road 23, near the junction of Forest Service road 48, approximately 14 southeast of Florence,” according to Michele Jones, Central Coast and Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area District Ranger. The east end closure of forest road 23 begins at the junction of forest road 2300-919.
Work will begin September 4 and conclude on or around September 20.
Weekday access to Kentucky Falls trail head remains available from Lane County Road 4390 off of Highway 126.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause forest visitors”, said Jones. “Road work is necessary to extend the life of the bridges and improve the connecting road surface”.
