“We are relieved to have rain predicted for the area,” said Nancy Ashlock, Siuslaw Forest Fire Staff. “We thank everyone for working with us to keep the forest safe and free from fire,” she added.
As of midnight tonight the Industrial Fire Precaution Level lowers to an IFPL I, with moderate fire danger on all lands protected by the Siuslaw National Forest. Also, campfires within fire rings are once again allowed at all developed recreation areas, including campgrounds and day use areas.
Ashlock does advise that should warm, dry weather return, the potential of fire still exists. People visiting the national forest need to be careful with their use of fire.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact Coastal Valley Interagency Communication Center (CVICC) at 541-750-7024. Please remain careful when visiting or traveling throughout the Forest. Report all fires to CVICC or call 911.
