The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Rawlins Field Office is seeking public comment on the environmental assessment (EA) of proposed natural gas wells in the Grace Point Sub-Area within the Atlantic Rim Natural Gas Development Project area in Carbon County, Wyo.
The EA analyzes the development of eight natural gas wells 41 miles southwest of Rawlins, Wyo. Approximately 37.7 public surface acres would be disturbed with a long-term surface disturbance of 10.6 acres. The proposed wells would have the associated construction of a well pad, access road, gas gathering pipeline, water gathering pipeline, underground power line and utility corridor. To minimize surface disturbance on public land, pipelines and utilities would be located adjacent and parallel to the proposed or existing access roads and existing pipeline disturbances where feasible.
The EA is tiered to the 2007 Atlantic Rim Natural Gas Development Project Environmental Impact Statement and Record of Decision. It is available for review at www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/info/NEPA/documents/rfo/atlantic_rim/ea/grace_point.html.
Written comments will be accepted until Aug. 22 via email to BLM_WY_AtlanticRim@blm.gov with “Grace Point Comment” in the subject line; fax to 307-328-4224; or mail or delivery to the BLM Rawlins Field Office, Attn: Jennifer Fleuret, P.O. Box 2407, 1300 N. Third St., Rawlins WY 82301. Comments are most useful when they substantively address specific issues, concerns, ideas or mitigation opportunities.
