HELENA, MONT., December 4, 2012—The Helena Ranger District has temporarily closed the Forest Service portion of the Priest Pass Road #335 from where the road crosses from private property onto National Forest System land in the NW ¼ of Section 28, T10N, R5W to the intersection of Priest Pass Road with Forest Service Road #1802-B2.
This temporary closure is being implemented to help maintain public safety in the area during logging activities and log hauling operations that are associated with the Forest-wide Roadside Hazardous Tree Removal Project. It is prohibited that any motor vehicle be on this portion of the road during this time. The temporary road closure for Priest Pass Road #335 will remain in-place until logging operations are complete and the order is rescinded.
The contractor will plow the road to allow access of his equipment and logging trucks into the work area, but the road will remain closed to public access for safety purposes. If you have questions, contact the Helena Ranger District office at 406-449-5490. The closure order and a map is posted on our website at www.fs.usda.gov/helena/.
