Salmon River Ranger District –
The Sheep Fire, located seven miles north of Riggins, ID, is currently 48,407 acres with 65% containment. Yesterday, fire became more active between Patrol Point and North Fork of Slate Creek, with single and group tree torching observed. However, the fire did not move from the previous day’s location. Fire spread was held in check with the assistance of three helicopters dropping water throughout the day. Along the east flank, and in deep draws, fire continued to creep and smolder.
The Northern Rockies North Idaho Zone Incident Management team will transfer management of the Sheep Fire to the Salmon River Ranger District of the Nez Perce National Forest effective 6:00 a.m. Thursday, October 11.

Red River Ranger District –
The McGuire Complex Fire is approximately 43,540 acres with 50% containment. Fire activity remained light yesterday and the same is expected for today. Fire fighters and equipment are being released and this will continue for the next few days. The Nez Perce National Forest resumes management of the fire today at 6:00 p.m with Lance Carbone as the Incident Commander. The cool weather and shorter daylight hours will result in lower fire behavior and limited spread. The closure area has been reduced and roads opened.
EVACUATIONS: All communities in the vicinity of the fire are now at Stage 1 evacuation alert. They include: Comstock, Concord, Cook Ranch, Dixie, Elk City, Mallard Creek Ranch, Orogrande, Red River and Red River Hot Springs. This is the lowest level of evacuation notice. If evacuation levels are increased again, due to increased fire activity, every attempt will be made to notify residents and businesses in the affected communities.
The Porcupine Fire Complex is 37,000 acres and 0% contained. The Magruder Road (FR 468) is closed from the junction of Green Mt. Road (FR 285) to Observation Point for public safety during active wildfire conditions.

Powell Ranger District –
Powell SBW Complex is approximately 66,000 acres. The complex consists of three main and numerous small fires situated in an arc running southeast to southwest of the town of Powell, Idaho, straddling the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness boundary. The three main fires are named from east to west as: Fern, Cedar and Freeze Out/Queen. Smoldering and creeping ground fire was observed with individual tree torching. The fire has burned up to FS Road 368 (Beaver Ridge) and is now closed from the junction of the Elk Summit Road to the 369 road. The Lunde Creek-Rock Garden Trail #534 is now closed from the junction of 581 road to rock garden.
The Weasel Complex is approximately 1100 acres with minimal fire growth. There are area, road and trail closures in effect for the fire areas. Check www.inciweb.org for a full description and map of closure orders.
North Fork Ranger District –
Isabella Complex consists of 3 fires; The Jugg Fire, Crimper Creek Fire, and the Wash Creek Fire with a total of 2,668 acres. Other active fires on the district are the Skull Fire at 961 acres, and the Elizabeth Fire at 2,094 acres. The 710 Road is now open. All other road and trail closures remain in effect: FR 252, FR 720 at Fly Hill, FR 705, Lost Ridge Trail 283 from the junction of FR 252 to the junction of Trail 233, Forest Trail 285, and Isabella Creek Trail 95 from the junction of FR 705 to the junction of Trail 399.
Moose Creek Ranger District –
Total acreage is estimated at 50,913. There are area, road and trail closures in effect for the fire areas. Please follow wildfire fighting personnel directions when you are in the area.
Wesley Fire, Payette National Forest
The Wesley Fire is with isolated torching. The current acreage is 15, 284 and it is 62% contained. This fire is burning 12 miles north-northwest of New Meadows, ID.
