Salmon River Ranger District –
Salmon River firefighting resources responded to a fire located in Sheep Gulch across from the town of Lucille, Idaho. The Sheep Fire is estimated at 400 acres. The cause of the fire is under investigation and started in grass and now is burning in timber and moving up towards John Day. Resources on the Sheep Fire include: 2 SEATS (single engine air tanker), 1 light helicopter, 1 medium helicopter, and 1 heavy helicopter.
Red River Ranger District –
The Porcupine Fire Complex remains active. The complex is estimated at 17,000 acres. Roughly six miles of Magruder Road #468 is impacted by fire, including about one-half mile near Sabe Saddle. Travel continues to be restricted along the road; however, firefighters are attempting to have the road open for travel between 10:00 a.m. and noon each day.
CLOSURES: The area closure on the Porcupine Fire Complex has been expanded. The closure includes Upper Bargamin drainage and lower Bargamin drainage approximately 10 miles below the Magruder Road #468. The following are open: Road #285 (with delays) and #468 (with delays). Trail #501 is open from 14-Mile Trailhead to Bargamin Creek.

Moose Creek Ranger District –
Fires continue to burn in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness under point protection status. New flight data information on the larger fires include: Ditch Fire, Vista Fire, Pettibone, Fire, Moose Ridge Fire, Three Links Fire, Blacktail Fire, and the Square Rock Fire. The Selway Trail from Shearer to Running Creek is open.
Powell Ranger District –
The Powell SBW Fire Complex is being managed by Diane Hutton’s Wildland Fire Management Team. For current information on this complex of fires please see the attached fact sheet.
