Salmon River Ranger District –
The Sheep Fire, located seven miles north of Riggins, ID, is currently 48,167 acres with 43% containment. Yesterday, fire burned primarily in heavy fuel concentrations, and was creeping along uncontrolled fire edges.

Red River Ranger District –
The McGuire Complex Fire is approximately 43,040 acres with 30% containment. Idaho County, the Nez Perce National Forest and Poncin’s Incident Management Team officials have determined that with reduced fire behavior and removal of much of the 125 miles of hose, over 200 pumps and hundreds of sprinklers, several roads and trails are now open for public use. A new closure notice and map will be provided to local people, posted throughout the area of the fire and available at Nez Perce National Forest Offices. The area closures include the sides of the roads that run through the closure area.
Specific Roads and Trails open to public use as of Friday, October 5, 2012:
1. Forest Road #222 will be open for access from its junction Forest Road #1196 to the south side of the town of Dixie, the rest of Forest Road #222 will be open.
2. Forest Road #1190 will be open from its junction with Forest Road #222 to its junction with Forest Road #421.
3. Forest Road #421, 311A, 9836, 9532, 1195 and 233 will be open.
4. Forest Trail #96, 210, 215, 204 and 820 will be open.
5. Forest Road #311 will be open from its junction with Forest Road #222 to its junction with Forest Road #311A.
6. Forest Road #1803 will be open from its junction with Forest Road #222 to its junction with Forest Road #9836.
7. Forest Trail #508 will be open from its junction with Forest Trail #820 to the Center of Section 3, T27N, R8E.
8. Forest Road #1150 will be open from its junction with Forest Road #9532 to its junction with Forest Road #1195.
Evacuation Orders remaining: Concord, Dixie, Comstock, Mallard Creek Ranch, Cook Ranch, Orogrande, Red River, Red River Hot Springs are at Stage 2 evacuation warning. Elk City remains under a Stage 1 evacuation alert.
Flight Restrictions: Airstrips that are now open include Dixie, Dixie Guard Station and Orogrande. The Temporary Flight Restrictions remain in place.

The Porcupine Fire Complex is 33,872 acres and 0% contained. Today will be chilly and sunny. Fire activity will be low, but weakened trees will continue to be a hazard. Crews will contain the fire east of Forest Road 285, monitor fire activity, and patrol for spot fires.
The Magruder Road (FR 468) is closed from the junction of Green Mt. Road (FR 285) to Observation Point for public safety during active wildfire conditions. All questions regarding road closures, trail closures and evacuation alerts should be directed to McGuire Fire Information, (208) 842-2725.
Powell Ranger District –
Powell SBW Complex is approximately 62,900 acres. The complex consists of three main and numerous small fires situated in an arc running southeast to southwest of the town of Powell, Idaho, straddling the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness boundary. The three main fires are named from east to west as: Fern, Cedar and Freeze Out/Queen. Smoldering and creeping ground fire was observed with individual and group tree torching, short range spotting, and short crown runs in the timber. The fire has burned up to FS Road 368 (Beaver Ridge) and is now closed from the junction of the Elk Summit Road to the 369 road. The Lunde Creek-Rock Garden Trail #534 is now closed from the junction of 581 road to rock garden.
The Weasel Complex reported approximately 1100 acres with minimal fire growth. There are area, road and trail closures in effect for the fire areas. Check www.inciweb.org for a full description and map of closure orders. Please follow wildfire fighting personnel directions when you are in the area. Be prepared for heavy smoke in the area of Highway 12 near Powell, ID. Drive with your headlights on for your safety.
North Fork Ranger District –
Isabella Complex consists of 3 fires; Jugg Fire is 1,700 acres, Crimper Creek Fire is 84 acres, and the Wash Creek Fire is 389 acres. Other active fires on the district are the Skull Fire at 921 acres, and the Elizabeth Fire at 1,800 acres. Elizabeth is the most active and is burning in an old fire scar. The 710 Road is now open. All other road and trail closures remain in effect: FR 252, FR 720 at Fly Hill, FR 705, Lost Ridge Trail 283 from the junction of FR 252 to the junction of Trail 233, Forest Trail 285, and Isabella Creek Trail 95 from the junction of FR 705 to the junction of Trail 399. If you are in the area of these fires, be prepared for the Management Teams preventing you from unrestricted area access.
Moose Creek Ranger District –
Total acreage is estimated at 50,000. There are area, road and trail closures in effect for the fire areas. Please follow wildfire fighting personnel directions when you are in the area.
Wesley Fire, Payette National Forest
The Wesley Fire is creeping with isolated torching. The current acreage is 15, 067 and it is 71% contained. This fire is burning 12 miles north-northwest of New Meadows, ID.
