McCall, ID – Payette National Forest firefighters are responding to a new wildfire 6 miles north of Cambridge, Idaho. The Grizzly Fire was reported at 2:30 p.m. today at an estimated 10 acres and quickly grew to 150 acres by 4:30 p.m. today. About 20 structures are threatened and evacuations are in effect. The fire is burning actively in grass and sagebrush.
Currently , 8 engines, 16 smokejumpers, 2 bull dozers, 3 single engine air tankers, one air attack, 3 MAFFS (C-130 Airtankers) along with other air and ground resources are working on the fire.
Vale BLM, the Boise National Forest and numerous local rural fire departments are also responding to the fire.
