Brant has worked on the Payette National Forest and said, “I’m excited to be returning to some beautiful and familiar places and truly look forward to reconnecting with many former colleagues and friends”. Forest Supervisor, Kevin Martin, said “Brant Petersen has a strong background in planning and working with local communities. I think he will be an excellent fit for the north end of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest and I look forward to working with him throughout his detail.”
Petersen, his wife, eleven year old son, and thirteen year old daughter spend most of their free time hiking, skiing, boating and camping all over the Northwest. One of their favorite places to recreate is Hells Canyon and the surrounding areas. “I especially enjoy steelhead fishing on the Snake River and its tributaries, and the challenge of hunting upland game with my son and two German Shorthairs on the Hells Canyon breaks. I’m excited to have been asked to serve as acting District Ranger on the Eagle Cap RD and HCNRA and am looking forward to working alongside such a great staff and with the local communities,” says Brant.
