In 1863 President Lincoln declared an official day of Thanksgiving for the nation. Congress set Thanksgiving Day as the fourth Thursday of the month starting in 1941.
Today, America’s farmers, ranchers and growers are still the most productive and innovative in the world. Their efforts provide our nation with a secure, safe, and affordable food supply – and Thanksgiving is a particularly relevant time for all of us to recognize their efforts.
Malheur National Forest employees wish all of you and your families a healthy and Happy Thanksgiving!
