The cleanup operations are in response to the June 12th wind event that affected the Main Boulder corridor. Cleanup is scheduled to be focused in six precise areas within the project area. Operations are scheduled to continue into the winter to complete the remaining 160 acres of the original 2500 acre Main Boulder fuel project. It is anticipated that this will be the final year of the fuels reduction project in the Main Boulder corridor, with the final cleanup work being completed in June/ July of 2013.
No hauling operations are permitted on weekends in order to limit conflicts with winter recreationists (i.e., all logging truck traffic will occur during the week). Recreationists should call the Yellowstone Ranger District’s Big Timber office at 406-932-5155 prior to heading out to get latest updates on access and parking.
