Cascade Creek Fire on Mt. Adams
Transition to a local Type 3 team is now complete. Personnel continue to mop-up on the south and west end of the fire. Rehabilitation of control lines is underway in places where the fire has been contained for the last two weeks. Cattle round-up activities are also on-going.
Rain is in the forecast for the upcoming weekend. The fire is changing little day-by-day now. It grew a small amount since last report and is now about 20,500 acres.
With the transition to the new team and less active fire behavior, updates will be combined with information on the South Point Fire on the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012.
