This flareup now threatens an additional 75 to 100 homes in the Wilderness Ranch sub-division area, which is northeast of Robie Creek. The Boise County Sheriff office is implementing additional evacuations on the Rush Creek Road and the top portion of Evergreen Road, both of which are in the Wilderness Ranch sub-division. The evacuation orders from yesterday are still in effect along the Robie Creek Road.
Fire managers have ordered four more crews. Air tankers and helicopters will be available this morning to work on the challenging fire. Fire managers are also discussing whether to order a Type 2 incident management team.
Boise County Emergency Management Coordinator John Roberts said a vacant residence adjacent to where the fire started was burned immediately yesterday, but no other structures have been taken.
The Idaho Department of Lands is the lead agency battling the fire which currently is fully on private land. A mutual aid response to fight the fire includes the USFS, BLM, and rural fire departments.
More detailed updates on fire managers’ planned activities will be provided throughout the morning.
