A field trip to the Quartz-Jasper and PeeWee insect and disease treatment areas, where the project will be located, will occur on Sunday, September 14th. Anyone interested in participating should meet at 9:00 am at the Falls Inn Tavern located at 8700 Hwy 57, Priest River, Idaho. The intent is to be done with the field trip around 1:00 pm. A trip itinerary will be shared that morning.
Following the field trip, a workshop will be held to refine the purpose and need (why the project should be done) and develop the proposed action framework (what activities would occur on the ground based on the need). This workshop will be held from 12:00-4:00pm on Friday, September 19th and 9:00 am-4:00 pm on Saturday, September 20th. The workshop will be held at the Priest River Event Center located at 5399 Highway 2, Priest River, Idaho.
Understandably, with the number of people interested in participating in the collaborative process for this project, it is not always possible to find meeting dates and times that work for everyone. For those unable to attend the field trip or workshop, there will be additional opportunities to engage in the collaborative process or you can provide feedback on the project during scoping.
Information about the project can be found on the project webpage at http://www.fs.usda.gov/ projects/ipnf/landmanagement/ projects (scroll down and click on the Jasper Mountain link). Please direct any questions to Tera Little, Project Team Leader, at email@example.com or 406-329-3146.
