Forecast: Today will be warm, dry and unstable with a Haines Index of 5. Winds will be from the south and southwest at 15-20 mph. Highs are expected to be around 80 degrees.
Remarks: Firefighters will continue to monitor the Bench, Copper and New fires and will begin assessing the Bench fire for fireline rehabilitation today. The favorable weather meant there was minimal fire activity Monday. Firefighters were able to get a second holding line put in near Basin and Noho Creek about 4 miles northeast of Lower Stanley. Firefighters will try to keep the fire from crossing Lightning Creek and will do some structure protection around Sunbeam hot springs.

The following CAMPGROUNDS are closed due to the fire closure: Beaver Creek, Lola Creek, Marsh Creek Transfer, O’Brien, Josephus Lake, and campgrounds along the Salmon River from Lower Stanley to Indian Riffles, including: Salmon, Casino, Riverside and Mormon Bend Campgrounds.

The Boundary Creek Road (FS 579) to the Middle Fork remains open.
