“We thank the many businesses that provided plants, flowers, food, and more for the memorial,” said Forest Supervisor Mike Williams. “We especially thank all the people who lined the memorial procession route through the streets of Wenatchee. Your support, your heartfelt messages shared on handwritten signs, and your quiet respect for the families and friends of our fallen firefighters is so appreciated.”
The memorial event to honor the three firefighters killed in the Twisp River Fire started with a procession of over 80 vehicles—fire engines, brush trucks, police cars, federal and state agency vehicles, and the cars carrying the families of the fallen firefighters. The memorial event occurred at the Town Toyota Center on August 30.
“We are blessed to live and work in communities with such caring individuals. We thank everyone who helped make the memorial a special remembrance for all involved,” Williams said.
