Approximately 30 permits will be sold at the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area Planning Annex, located at 4584 N. Rancho Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The office will be open Monday – Friday, with the exception of November 12, 2012, when the office will be closed in observance of Veterans Day.
“Given the small quantity of wood available for this sale, we are limiting the number of cords a household can purchase,” said Randy Swick, Area Manager for the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area. “We do anticipate another fuel wood sale next spring, when we begin reconstruction of our recreation facilities in Lee Canyon,” Swick continued.
Each cord of wood costs $20, and each household is limited to one cord. Payment can be made using cash or personal check; credit cards will not be accepted.
Individuals purchasing a permit will be required to provide a valid driver’s license as well as the make, model, and license plate of the vehicle they will use to pick up the wood.
The wood will be located at Old Mill Picnic Area on Lee Canyon Road (State Route 156). Permit holders are requested to pick up their wood no later than November 30, 2012.
