Continued recent moisture and anticipated cooler weather conditions leading into November have helped reduce the risk of a new fire starting on the district. Stage I and stage II Fire Restrictions were in effect on the Sioux Ranger District throughout most of the summer.
Fire officials continue to ask that everyone use extreme caution when recreating or working in woods to decrease the chance of fires. Remember to bring a bucket, water, and shovel and to always leave your campfire dead out, which means no heat to the touch.
