The fire is now approximately 2,000 acres and continues to actively burn in the contiguous sub-alpine fir and dense, dead timber primarily within the Wilderness. Fire personnel continue to monitor the main East Fork Fire from a safe location; and will continue to respond to spot fires that ignite outside of the Wilderness boundary.
Brett Todd’s outfitter camp in Meadow Creek will be relocated to two separate places—Camp Creek and Middle Fork—due to the East Fork Fire activity. All trail closures remain in place; however, no structures are threatened at this time.
The Red Flag Warning, for gusty winds and low relative humidity levels, will remain in effect until midnight Tuesday. Activity from the East Fork Fire is creating large smoke columns that are visible from Lincoln and the surrounding areas; as well as smoke from fires in western Montana and Idaho that is being pushed into the area by the westerly winds.
