Cornelia (“Cornie”) Hudson took the oath of office, administered by Jamie E. Connell, State Director for the Montana/Dakotas BLM, during the brief induction ceremony in the field office’s conference room.
Hudson replaces Tim Bozorth, who retired from the position last summer.
In her remarks, Hudson thanked the staffs of the field office, the Western Montana BLM District, and the Montana State Office for their support since she came to the office last November and said she looks forward to a challenging and rewarding future guiding the Dillon office and fostering the agency’s relationship with public lands users.
Connell said the choice of Hudson to the position was a good one, not only for the office but for the community as a whole. “I know you have a strong commitment to partnership and in working with our publics,” she told Hudson during the ceremony. “You’re going to do well here.”
Hudson comes to the BLM from the U.S. Forest Service where she was the District Ranger in Dillon. She and her husband Breck have lived in Dillon for nearly two years and have two daughters—one attending Dillon High and one in college.
