The proposed action is the result of months of investigation by resource specialists including field visits and data analysis, as well as input developed through a collaborative effort during 2013 that included the general public, local organizations, homeowners, and other agencies and jurisdictions with an interest in wildlife habitat improvement and fire management.
The Palisades District encourages the public to review the proposal and to express concerns, suggestions, and any new information pertinent to the proposal. Comments will help define the scope of the analysis, which may include alternate ways to meet the purpose and need of the project. Comments are due by April 9, 2014.
An Open House is scheduled for March 19th, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Swan Valley American Legion (157 Stoltenberg Ln). Forest Service and Idaho Department of Fish and Game employees will be on hand to further explain the project, answer any questions, and to document your comments about the project.
Verbal comments can be made to the project leader at 208-354-2312.
The public scoping document and instructions on how comments can be submitted for the project can be found at the Caribou-Targhee National Forest website.
