“Over time recreation has increased and this newly reconstructed site will help meet the needs of current and future recreationists, providing float access for the Stillwater River,” said Jeff Gildehaus, Beartooth R.D. Outdoor Recreation Planner.
A community gathering and formal reconstruction dedication will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Old Nye Fishing Access Site recognizing the support of the Stillwater Mining Company (SMC). The dedication will be followed by a high noon community BBQ, courtesy of SMC at the Beartooth Ranch located just 2.5 miles south of the Old Nye Fishing Access Site or 2 miles south of the Stillwater Mine. Old Nye Fishing Access Site is 30.5 miles southwest of Absarokee, MT on Nye Road.
