Montana Bicycle Guild would operate participant parking and base of operations at Red Lodge Mountain Ski Resort. The race would be held in two separate stages on designated courses with time checks. Shuttles for race participants for the Silver Run/Ingles Creek course and return to Red lodge Mountain would be provided by the meet organization. Activities would take place on the existing roads and trails and event organizers would be responsible for all pre-operational and post operational preparations and clean-up, along with the health and safety aspects of the event.
“The Forest Service monitors the recreation events we permit to assess any resource impacts and require post event mitigation such as trail maintenance to address them,” said Traute Parrie, Beartooth District Ranger. “We are interested in public comment regarding the proposal, as the area receives a high level of interest.”
Comments regarding the proposed recreation event should be received at the Beartooth Ranger District by June 5, 2015, and should be substantive to the proposed event and are part of public record.
