Michael has worked for the Forest Service since 1996 initially working on the Horseshoe Meadow Hotshots on the Sequoia National Forest early in his career, followed by several years on Crew 7 in Yosemite National Park. Later work included an assignment at Jerseydale Station on Engine 11 in 1998. Originally from Mariposa, this new career opportunity brings Michael back home where his parents and brother still live. He enjoys being “minutes from home” spending less time commuting so he can spend more time with his wife, Hilary and daughters, Mikayla, 6 and Mikenna, 3.
During a recent interview, Michael expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to spend more time with family and reconnect with his community and the Sierra National Forest welcomes him back home.
