The Marshall Woods project was initiated in 2008 with the involvement of the Lolo Restoration Committee, a collaborative group formed to work with the Lolo National Forest on projects to meet 13 Restoration Principles (http://www.montanarestoration.org/restoration-principles).
The project’s Environmental Asessment (EA) is currently out for public comment and is available on the Lolo NF website.http://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/marshallwoods.
Proposed project activities include vegetation management (using commercial harvest, non-commercial tree cutting, and prescribed fire), road and trail treatments, and noxious weed treatments. Details on project activities can be found in the EA and will also be explained at the public meeting. Public comments will be accepted through April 6.
