Each year the district conducts an approved prescribed burning plan according to conditions, “Warm spring days, along with cool nights and higher humidity, provide a good opportunity to complete these burns in critical areas and meet the objectives,” said Fire Management Officer Ashley Sites. He added, “We will be closely monitoring weather conditions and waiting to ignite the controlled burns until we get the ideal conditions.” Currently the burn is planned for Monday, April 8, however weather and proper conditions play a critical role in the burning window to achieve the desired objectives. If weather conditions are not ideal the burn will occur at a later date prior to vegetative green-up.
