Effective December 16th, 2012, hours of operation will be Thursday through Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Pacific Standard Time. The Forest Service will begin grooming the cross-country ski trails and requiring winter recreation passes on December 15th. Dogs will no longer be welcome on the trails or in the near vicinity of the Visitor Center.
Winter recreation passes are required at all times to park at the Lolo Pass Visitor Center. Day and season winter recreation passes can be purchased at the Visitor Center during regular hours of operation, and day passes can be purchased at the Visitor Center front door after-hours. Winter recreation passes will also be available in Missoula at Outdoor Supply and Rental, The Trail Head, the Lolo National Forest – Missoula Ranger District Office, and the Lolo Hot Springs on US Highway 12.
The ski-trail groomer will begin opening the cross-country ski trail on December 15th. We will be grooming the ski trails as snow depth allows. Our ski trails are groomed on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Individuals planning to bring groups to Lolo Pass for educational or recreational activities should contact the Visitor Center Manager, Buffie Cerutti, at the Powell Ranger Station (208) 942-0308.
Updates regarding ski and snow conditions, parking, weather and grooming will be posted on Facebook at: “Discover Your Northwest Lolo Pass Visitor Center”.
