The event is free, open to the public and will feature Nampa Mayor Tom Dale and Center Director Michelle Woods who will deliver opening remarks at 9 a.m., followed by a reception with food provided by the culinary arts students. Tours of the facility will be offered throughout the day.
The US Department of Agriculture operated Center has a student enrollment of 300 and a staff of nearly 90 employees.
The mission of the Center is to serve as an educational training program for young people 16-24 years of age. The program develops employability skills, assists in securing employment and ensuring students are prepared for everyday life as contributing members of society.
Technical training programs are provided for in the following fields:
· Facility Maintenance
· Painting and Plastering
· Computer Services
· Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aid
· Culinary Arts
· Finance and Business Administration
