The 2013 Spring Peak fire ravaged over 14,000 acres of prime sage-grouse and mule deer habitat near the historic town of Bodie south of Gardnerville. The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) in partnership with the United States Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management, recently organized a volunteer effort to help restore the area.
The Nevada Department of Wildlife, through our Nevada Wild stories series, takes you inside the Spring Peak fire restoration for a closer look at the how and why of this critical rehab project.
