The field office has received an application to renew and amend an existing Holter Lake Lodge occupancy lease on Holter Lake, north of Helena. The lease includes nearly four acres of BLM-administered lands adjacent the Holter Lake Recreation Site.
Back Door Mountain LLC, and its owners had previously operated the Holter Lake Lodge and bar/restaurant operation on a 4.5-acre private tract adjacent to the BLM parcel under an occupancy lease. BDM has applied to renew the lease and amend the authorized uses to support its Holter Lake Lodge subdivision development instead of the lodge and bar/restaurant. Proposed uses on BLM lands include a water supply well, parking area, boat ramp, and boat docks. A detailed description of the proposed changes can be found online athttp://blm.gov/l1kd
The BLM will prepare an Environmental Assessment to analyze the impacts of the renewal and amendment. The field office welcomes public scoping comments on issues, concerns, or alternatives that should be evaluated during preparation of the EA.
Comments should be as specific as possible and sent to: BLM Butte Field Office, 106 N. Parkmont, Butte, MT 59701, or e-mailed to Michael Wyatt at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Although comments will be accepted at any time throughout the process, those submitted by Aug. 25 will be most helpful in development of the EA. To be considered, all comments must contain the name and address of the submitter. Before including your address, phone number, e-mail address, or other personal identifying information in your comment, you should be aware that your entire comment -- including your personal identifying information -- may be made publicly available at any time.
