CENTRAL OREGON- The Deschutes National Forest is joining, Bend-La Pine School District and many partners to provide an Outdoor Adventure Day for students from two La Pine elementary schools tomorrow.
On Tuesday, employees from the Deschutes National Forest and partners from the High Desert Museum, Klamath County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, Discover Your Northwest, the Deschutes Children’s Forest, Oregon State Parks, and Kathleen Payne as Sally Snag will participate in a La Pine Outdoor Adventure Day.
Over 600 students from kindergarten-5th grade at La Pine and Rosland Elementary Schools in La Pine will be engaged in learning about the outdoors. The Deschutes National Forest (Crescent Ranger District) will host the large scale conservation education event along with The programs for the day will highlight fish, botany, wildlife, outdoor recreation and safety, art, water, recycling and fire. Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl will visit the kids at lunchtime.
