The rental season for the cabin runs from November 1, 2012 through April 15, 2013. There is a service fee of $9.00 per reservation, for up to 14 nights. The maximum number of people per night at the cabin is 12. Visitors should keep in mind that this is a shared facility. In other words, it is possible that two parties of 6, or 3 parties of 4, could reserve the cabin for the same nights.

The three-room log cabin was built by the Edelweiss Ski Club around 1990 and is open to all winter recreationists.
“In the past, reservations were made through the Diamond Lake Ranger District front desk. The new online system will provide for better efficiency in reserving the popular cabin, and will be more consistent with the federal recreation rental system,” according to Kevin Woods, Lead Recreation Technician at Diamond Lake Ranger District.
All other rentals on the forest are currently done online, and include: Pickett Butte Lookout, Acker Rock Lookout, Whisky Camp Guard Station, and Butler Butte Cabin, on the Tiller Ranger District, and Musick Guard Station and Fairview Peak Lookout on the Cottage Grove Ranger District.
