ELKO, Nev.— Elko County Residents are invited to share their opinions and expectations regarding the benefits of recreating on public lands in a series of informal meetings in August and September.
The Great Basin Institute (GBI) is facilitating these interactive discussions to gather information from individuals and organizations that recreate in Elko County’s Wilderness Study Areas (WSAs) and on public lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). This information will be shared with the BLM in preparation of the BLM’s upcoming Elko District Resource Management Plan revision. The information shared will help the BLM better facilitate the needs and expectations of public land users.
