Background: The Ashton/Island Park Ranger District, in conjunction with Fremont County, developed and approved the expansion of the Fremont County’s Macks Inn Sewer Treatment Facility this spring. Fifty acres of National Forest System lands will be used to accommodate the new sprinkler system. The additional effluent treatment area would increase the capacity of the wastewater system in response to increased use and comply with EPA and IDEQ requirements. This project was in the planning phase for at least two years with multiple opportunities for public input.
This work is expected to continue through September. For Public Safety, please avoid this area during this time.
