SILVER CITY, N.M.; March 20, 2015 – Gila National Forest officials would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for participating in Forest Plan Revision Community Conversations held in early March. The Forest Plan is an important document that guides all of our management actions. The end result of the revision process will be a plan that describes the strategic direction for management of forest resources for at least the next 15 years.
Kelly Russell, Gila Forest Supervisor comments, “We truly appreciate your involvement in helping us begin the revision of the Gila’s Forest Plan and look forward to working with you.”
There will be more opportunities for the public to be involved throughout the process, including sharing knowledge, ideas, and data in the Assessment Phase.
