Firefighters responded to three fires during a 24-hour period on Friday and Saturday. The Boundary Fire west of Fall Creek Trailhead on Highway 138 is controlled. Firefighters were jumped into the Mosquito Fire near Rattlesnake Mountain in the Rogue-Umpqua Divide. Firefighters responded to a fire near the horse corral at Diamond Lake.
No public use restrictions are in place at this time. Forest visitors are urged to use safety precautions on national forest lands. Keep campfires small, use designated campfire rings, clear away flammable material within three feet of the campfire ring, don’t build fires under hanging tree limbs or in brushy areas, and make sure campfires are completely extinguished before leaving.
