The Bitterroot Cross-Country Ski Club grooms the Chief Joseph Ski trails each week for use by both Classic and Skate skiers. There is abundant snow this year and the Bitterroot Grooming Crew has been hard at work for weeks getting the trails in top condition for all to enjoy. In addition to the groomed trails, skiers can stop at the Gordon Reese Cabin to warm up and grab a hot drink.
For visitors who prefer a different challenge there are many miles of ungroomed ski trails located just across the highway and accessed from the same Chief Joseph Trailhead. Maps for all the trails are available at the sign-in box at the entrance to the groomed trail system. Dogs are welcome on the ungroomed trail system, but are not permitted on the groomed system.
