Location: Approximately one mile northeast of Dunham Point, Seeley Lake Ranger District

Summary: Firefighters began establishing fireline yesterday in steep terrain and kept the fire from spreading beyond ten acres. For public safety, the Center Ridge Trail 246 on the Seeley Lake Ranger District has been closed from the Monture Guard Station trailhead north to its junction with Center Creek Trail 463. Firefighters will continue work to establish fireline in difficult terrain, locate and extinguish hot spots.
Resources on Fire: Three crews, 14 Smokejumpers, one engine and seven initial attack firefighters from the Seeley Lake Ranger District. Two water tenders are also supporting fire suppression efforts.
Today’s Plan: Firefighters will continue to construct fireline and locate and extinguish hotspots. Water tenders will be used to support hose lay near roads. Firefighters will also be posting lookouts and removing hazard trees as needed.
