The Smokey Bear Program is a key fire prevention and education program for the local school children in Casper, Wyo.
Every year Nelson dedicates countless hours during fire prevention month to educating the preschoolers and kindergartners of Casper about fire prevention. She has touched the lives of over 20,000 kids throughout her career which began in1985.
“I am always meeting someone from the community that says aren’t you the Smokey lady,” noted Robin Nelson.
Nelson has dedicated thousands of hours to Smokey’s fire prevention program. Her impact to the children of Casper has spread throughout the community and many of those first children she touched through her efforts are today leading our communities as adults.
