“For the safety of the public and the firefighters we are closing the Amsden Creek WHMA. This is tough, rugged country and we want everyone to be as safe as possible,” says Seth Roseberry, Sheridan Region Habitat and Access Coordinator for the Game and Fish. “We are partnering with numerous agencies and will open the Amsden Creek land when it is safe to do so. For now we ask people respect this closure for everyone’s safety.”
The 3500-acre Amsden Creek WHMA is located on the east side of the Bighorn Mountains. It is home to elk, mule deer and other species. More information about the wildfire is available from the public information office on the incident management team. Call (307) 683-7019.
