The BLM intends to complete an Environmental Assessment of the 26,397-acre planning area in Broadwater County by the spring of 2013.
“This is an important planning area for our office and as we begin work, we’d like to hear from the public on issues, concerns, or alternatives that should be evaluated by the BLM,” said Butte Field Office Manager Scott Haight. “We will use the public’s comments to prepare the EA which we plan to make available for public review by early March.”
The EA will evaluate and develop a range of alternatives on how to manage a variety of resource issues, including access and travel management, vegetation and riparian treatments, and Wildland Urban Interface fire potential.
A map of the planning area, along with more detailed information on the above issues, can be found on BLM’s website at http://blm.gov/5xkd.
Those who would like to comment on the proposal should be as specific as possible with suggestions regarding resource issues, data sources, or alternatives to be considered in the environmental analysis. Send comments to the Butte Field Office at 106 N. Parkmont, Butte, MT 59701 or e-mail email@example.com.
To be considered, all comments must contain the name and address of the submitter. Before including your address, phone number, e-mail address, or other personally identifying information in your comment, you should be aware that your entire comment—including your personal identifying information—may be made publicly available at any time. While you can ask us in your comment to withhold your personal identifying information from public review, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
