The BLM intends to complete an Environmental Assessment of the 24,490-acre planning area in the county this spring.
“As we begin work, we’d like to hear from the public on issues, concerns, or alternatives that should be evaluated by the BLM,” said Butte Field Office Manager Scott Haight. “We will use the public’s comments to develop proposed management actions, along with an EA, which we plan to make available for public review in March.”
The EA will evaluate and develop a range of alternatives on how to manage a variety of resource issues, including access and travel management, a non-motorized multiple-use trail system, grazing permits, and vegetation and riparian treatments.
A map of the planning area, along with more detailed information on the above issues, can be found on BLM’s website at http://blm.gov/5xkd.
Those who would like to provide scoping comments should be as specific as possible with suggestions regarding resource issues, data sources, or alternatives to be considered in the environmental analysis. Send comments to Michael O’Brien, Butte Field Office at 106 N. Parkmont, Butte, MT 59701 or e-mail email@example.com.
To be considered, all comments must contain the name and address of the submitter. Before including your address, phone number, e-mail address, or other personally identifying information in your comment, you should be aware that your entire comment—including your personal identifying information—may be made publicly available at any time. While you can ask us in your comment to withhold your personal identifying information from public review, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
