Permits are limited to three cords per person and will be issued on a first come first serve basis. Permits are $16 per cord and $1 per post and pole. There is an additional $1.50 road maintenance fee per permit. Individuals must show up in person at the Casper Field Office, located at 2987 Prospector Drive between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to purchase a permit.
Actual cutting will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 4 and end on Sunday Sept. 30. Due to the high fire danger, removing post and poles and firewood is allowed from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. and all products must be removed no later than Sept. 30.
All available areas and individual trees will be designated and marked by BLM prior to the sale. Firewood can be cut in these areas, and only those trees marked are available for firewood use.
