The Wesley fire is burning north- northwest of New Meadows, Idaho in Adams County and is visible from Highway 95 and 55. The Fire continues to burn in upper Lick Creek, upper Rapid River and upper Boulder Creek, encompassing the Lick Creek lookout. The fire is estimated at 3,783 acres and continues to burn in a steep and remote area with limited access to the fire.
The Type II Incident Management Team (Crocker) has taken over the duties of the fire.
Weather forecast for the remainder of the week is calling for higher temperatures and lower humidity. The fire is burning in subalpine fir, ponderosa pine, and Douglas fir. Crews continue with anchoring and securing fire line on the south end of the fire. Air resources will continue to assist fire fighters with retardant and water drops as needed.
Fuels are extremely dry. Today’s observed fire behavior has been torching and crowning,, and continuing to move north-northeast. Crews continue to hold anchor points and assess roadways for indirect line construction.
