“The Beartooth District has received numerous requests expressing interest in expanding current operations or obtaining new Special Use Permits for outfitting and guiding activities,” said Traute Parrie, Beartooth District Ranger, “as permit vacancies become available the Forest utilizes an application process to
garner interest and select qualified permitees for each area of need.” The full application package (or Prospectus) is now available and the Beartooth Ranger District will be soliciting applications from March 1 to April 1, 2013.
In January 2013, the Beartooth Ranger District completed the Outfitter/Guide Needs Assessment and Analysis which determined the need to provide additional outfitting services for backpacking along with new outfitting opportunities for environmental education and day-use recreation therapy.
