The lightning caused fire approximately 30 miles north-northeast of Rawlins in the Ferris Mountains is 90% contained and is expected to be fully contained by tomorrow, August 10, 2012. It was burning on state, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and private lands.
There were no significant events yesterday. An infrared map of the area indicated a few hot spots that were targeted. Repair of suppression lines were completed.
Strategy: Today's objective is to demob existing crews, transition to a Type IV crew and monitor the remaining hot spots. Full containment is expected by Friday, August 10, 2012.
